Declared State of Public Health Emergency

During a declared state of public health emergency, an emergency temporary permit may be issued to practical nurses licensed in another jurisdiction of the U.S. whose license is current, unrestricted and in good standing in such jurisdiction, provided that the practical nurse register with the board prior to providing practical nursing care.  

The emergency permit may be issued for 60 days or until termination of the state of public health emergency, whichever comes first.

The permit may be extended for two additional 60 day periods.

During a disaster, if office phone lines are down or unmanned, the emergency cellular phone will be activated at 318-489-0636.
