Louisiana uses the NCLEX® - PN as the licensing examination for practical nurses. This examination depends on practicing LPNs to serve on panels and to assist in writing/developing items (questions) and/or reviewing existing items. Panel members travel to Chicago (all expenses paid) to write or review test items for the NCLEX® examination. On site training is provided. As an NCLEX® panel member you not only have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the examination, but also to network with your nursing colleagues on a national level. If you are an LPN in Louisiana you can qualify to serve on a panel if you are currently licensed in Louisiana and if your license has not been disciplined by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners.
